Saturday's Competition

Hi girls!

Please take note of the following things that you should bring for this sat's competition.

-Make-up (foundation, blusher, lipstick)

We will provide the slivery white eyeshadow, loose powder.

- Net for hair bun

- Gown and court shoes (if you did not leave them in school before sat)

If you need help with your make up and hair, please report sharp at 6.30am. we have to complete all these 'preparation work' by 7am and do our warm ups.

If you know how to, bun your hair at home before coming. If not, come with your hair tied up in a ponytail with those black thin elastic rubber band and bring your net for the hair bun, we'll help you with it.

We will help you with your make up too.

JC1s please take note: Tomorrow's Practice

Hi JC1s,

tomorrow's practice will be from 2.30-4.30pm.

Venue will be at the same classrooms.

We apologize for the late notice.

Wednesday Practice

Hi Ensemble,

Please take note of the practice timings for Wednesday's practice.

JC2 Timing : 2.30-6.30 Venue: Guitar Room

JC1s Timing 3.00-5.00 Venue: Respective Classrooms

Room will be opened as usual in the morning for you to put your guitars

Friday's Practice

Hello JC1s,

there will not be any practice this coming Friday as the SYF group will be going out for SYF rehearsal.

Practice will resume next Wednesday.

Also, those who are interested to come and watch the 5th GEC on the 2nd Apr, please let me know asap! More details coul be found in the post below.

Attention all JC2s and JC1 main

Dear all guitarists

We will be going to RP for our SYF rehearsal this friday, please report to guitar room at 12.00 noon sharp. DO NOT BE LATE.

Please have an early lunch and if you need to, bring along snacks so that you wont feel hungry during the rehearsal.

We would be returning about 4 and will carry on with our practice till 6 plus.

There will be saturday practice as usual.

(Art students are exempted from this rehearsal due to clash in timing)

Attention JC1s! (Regarding 5th Annual GEC)

Hi all JC1s!

As you all know, the JC2s will be taking part in the Annual Guitar Ensemble Competition this year organised by our conductor, Mr Terence Choo.

I hereby invite you people to come watch this competition! :D

This would be a very good exposure chance for you will also be taking part in this annual guitar competition next year too! It will also allow you to be exposed to more guitar ensemble music so that you'll know how and what a guitar ensemble actually sound like.

Apart from hearing just our school, you will also get to hear ensembles from other secondary schools and JCs such as SAC, ACJC, SRJC, YJC etc.

I strongly encourage you people to come and watch this! You can treat this as a bonding session with your new-found cca mates as well!

4th Annual GEC that took place last year

Details of this competition are as follows:

Date: 2 Apr 2011, Saturday

Time: 9am - 1pm

Venue: Yishun Junior College, Auditorium

Ticket Fee: $6 per person

As places are limited, it will be on first come first serve basis. We are not too sure how many seats will be allocated to us yet, but we will try to let everyone that wants to go if possible.

Transport MIGHT be provided depending on the number of people going as well.

Do let me know by Wednesday, 23 Mar 2011, 2359hrs. Send me an email (Beatrice Teo Su En 10S11) thru the lms gmail system to let me know. Do include your name, class,contact number and number of tickets that you want.

As mentioned on Wednesday's practice, everyone is required to get a guitar support. Those who do not have one, please get it either on your own or through Mr Choo. Please tell me if you wish to purchase 1. It costs $32. I will inform you again when to pay the money.

Those who have their own supports, please bring it EVERY PRACTICE.

2010-2011 Rules and Regulations

LATECOMING

Members are expected to be seated and tuned up 5 minutes before given practice time.

Penalty for late coming is paying back with practice after CCA hours

Penalty will be equal amount of time doing finger exercises.

E.g. Late for 5 minutes will mean staying back for 5 minutes doing finger exercise given by P/CM/VP/SL.

Exceptions only for valid reasons, excluding consultation.

Members whose lesson end just before practice starts at given a grace

period of 15 minutes to grab a bite before practice.

ATTENDANCE

Report to the secretary for attendance at the start of every practice

Inform Section Leaders if you’re unable to be present for CCA, so as to facilitate the marking of attendance

Submit all relevant documents on the next practice to the Secretary.

Parents’ letter will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis.

LOGISTICS

Approach the QMs for any loan of instruments. Loaning of any instrument MUST be recorded.

Any loss or damage to the instrument/equipment is to be reported to the QM. Fine will be imposed according to degree of damage.

Non-ensemble members are not allowed to play any of the instruments in the guitar room (i.e drumset) unless permission has been issued by the teachers-in-charge

Non-ensemble members can RENT instruments, e.g. drum sets, at a given rate.

For more information, please approach QMs or P.

No entering of storeroom unless permission has been granted by the EXCO.

Approach QMs or CM for usage of combo band instruments.

PLACEMENT OF BELONGINGS

All shoes must be placed on the racks neatly.

Bags are to be placed at the shelves

Guitars are to be taken home every weekend and NOT to be placed in the guitar room. A rental fee of $1 per day will be charged if you are to keep your guitar in the room.

*note: We are not responsible if your guitars are lost/stolen if you were to keep it in the room.

ANY OTHER MATTERS

You are to photocopy your own scores in the event of misplacing your scores.

All payments are to be made to the treasurer after practice only.

All are expected to be back in ensemble formation within 3 minutes, otherwise, the last section will have their sectionals outside the guitar room on the next practice.

Attention JC1 Guitarists!!!

Hi JC1s!

Please be reminded that there will be practice tomorrow, 2/3, from 2.30-4.30pm. Please assemble at J212 for a briefing first.

Due to some changes, we are unable to post the practice groupings out now. Our apologies for that. We will inform you the groupings during the briefing tomorrow.

Several things to take note:

1. For those who have their own classical guitar, please bring them along for tomorrow's practice. You can put your guitars in the guitar room in the morning from 7-7.25am. However, please be reminded that you are not allow to leave your guitars in school or you will be charged $1 per day.

2. For those who have purchased guitars through us, we will be giving them out to you during tomorrow's practice.

3. Please remember to bring $9 to purchase the guitar book+stress ball set.
