The start of 2010

Hello ensemble,

Just like to say that I am very happy with the progress of the ensemble today. The attendance was pretty good, we didn't had to fine anyone for being late (the Excos were on stand-by to fine people 10 mins after 9am but apparently, we didn't had to :D), and the standard of playing is much better than last year's. (we've done 2 songs in just 1 practice, compared to Quien Sera), so GOOD JOB EVERYONE! :D

I hope everyone will continue to put in the good effort for CCA, it's just 5 months left, so lets make the best out of it alright? I know we missed quite a number of opportunities to perform/bond etc last year, so lets all make up for all the loss this year, and our teachers-in-charge are kinda supportive of our proposed events, so the future looks good. :D For those who receive the message from the teachers regarding attendance, we hope that you understand that we are not bent on driving you out of the CCA, but we want to set the tone right. It's the preparation for competition/concert season, we cannot be spending all the time chasing after people to attend practice. CCA is a choice, you chose GE, so attend it! Therefore, the teachers are giving you all (I mean those who receive the message) a 2nd chance, so please cherish it.

Yep, on the exco & SLs' part, we'll do our very best to push the group to perform to the best, but as individuals, I really hope you all will take responsibility in your own playing and ask your SLs when in doubt, in this way, all of us will progress together. Also, try to come for practice with an open mind. Instead of seeing it as a long dreadful practice session, treat it as an opportunity to learn a new skill, discover more about people whom you seldom talk to and do not know (I have to be honest that I do not know the names of everyone here in the ensemble as I wasn't with you all for the 6 months last year, so I'm trying to), widen your musical knowledge etc. Yes, I know it can be really boring at times, but in life, we don't always have fun all the time right? (: Yep, so come with an open mind and as the days go by, we'll all grow to enjoy practices and love the ensemble more. (de-stress ourselves after our long study hours)

With that, I'll end off lest I get too long-winded! I truly appreciate everyone for making the effort today. :D

See you guys on Wednesday, 330pm sharp (seated and tuned!) :D

ANGELYN(:
